easter 2016.

How fortunate were we to have such a beautiful Easter day in March?!  Henry was beyond excited to hunt for all of his "surprise" eggs this year.  In fact, he found them all, opened them and decided he wanted to hide them all and find them again... and again... and again.  Damn YouTube and all of the surprise egg videos people make.  We had a nice lunch with our families, enjoyed the weather and had plenty of entertainment from both boys.

Sorry for the overload of pics of my table... I finally finished our dining room area and just love my table and Easter decor so much!  Nothing beats fresh flowers :)

emmett- 5 months

I say it every month, but the time is just flying by... this little guy is just so darn happy!  He watches his brother like a hawk, cracks up at the strangest things and wants to move SO badly.  Now that he can roll to his belly, he's ready to get going.  He wiggles and shakes his little body to get his toys- I'm assuming he will be crawling sooner than later.  Every day with him is just the best!
Happy 5 months!

Henry turns 3!

I feel like I just posted Henry's 2nd Birthday party pics- somehow another year has passed and now we have a 3 year old!   This might have been my last color-coordinated, modge-podged and craft filled party for Henry.  A delivery pizza & mis-matched paper plates party sounds fantastic :)  I am going to fully commit to a big 1st Birthday Party for Emmett... but might take it easy after that (I say that now, check back in a year and see how much I ignored my own advice)

I didn't have a major theme this year, but the dollar section at Target set the stage for the colors and I really, REALLY wanted these great gold letter balloons spelling HENRY for the main decor- I found them on amazon and decided I could just get them filled with helium that day at Meijer.  First issue was that they all weren't the same color gold :( the next issue came at Meijer.  First balloon blew up just fine.  I didn't realize how BIG a 40" balloon is though!  Second one was going great until POP.  My heart and the big H balloon both blew up.  I was proud of myself for not blowing up (pun intended) on the cashier and opted for some packing tape to try to piece it back together at home.  After she filled the rest, my next issue was getting 4 massive letters plus 4 stars in the back of my Pilot on a VERY  windy day... Luckily Aaron was able to wrangle them into the back and off we went to repair the busted balloon.

The last hiccup was a poorly iced & very ugly (but delicious) "3" shaped cake... I couldn't get my piping bag to work and had to just smear it on as people were walking in the door.  It was one of those classic #pinterestfails.

Regardless of all that, the party was still a success!   Henry had a great time playing with his friends, the adults all got to catch up and it was BEAUTIFUL outside!  We really couldn't have asked for a better day celebrating our little man!
