Getting back at it! (maybe)

My efforts to keep blogging have fallen WAY behind.  The past three months have gone by in the blink of an eye, finally Spring is here and hopefully warmer days are coming too.  These boys need to get out and RUN.  Cabin fever is oh-so real, and even the bounce house isn't enough to keep it at bay.

We have all been sick over the past 5 weeks.  One by one, currently Darin and I are both still struggling to get better.  It's exhausting having a house full of sickies all the while feeding them and cleaning up after them and all that.  I just want to sit on the couch for 24 hours but we all know that's not how it works.  Luckily we all had a few days off recently so that was nice!  Darin went to Vegas with his buddies and I took the boys to the Children's Museum in Indy for some fun!

Next up for the Miller family is a long list of outdoor things that have to be done... I'm hoping for a deck and a fence in the near future....  Darin says otherwise :)  Cheers to Spring!  Here are some pics from the last few months.

christmas 2016

We made it home from our mini vacation in time to celebrate Christmas with Darin's family on Christmas Eve, then headed back home to wake up on Christmas morning.  It was late Christmas Eve when we finally got to the house but Henry still had time to put out a cookie and some milk for Santa.   It was time for the boys to go to bed so mom and dad could play Santa.

Thankfully the boys don't really understand the concept of waking up as early as possible to see what Santa brought yet, so we all were able to sleep in a bit.  Eventually everyone woke up and Henry's first question was if Santa came.  He ran down to see all of the gifts and said, "what is the world is going on here?!"  He made sure the cookies and milk were gone and then started to dive into the gifts.  Emmett remained neutral and was more interested in eating Darin's cinnamon roll.  I saved the best and biggest gift for Henry for last... the ultimate garage he requested.  He was so excited to open it last.  We spent the rest of the day putting things together and playing with all of the new toys.  After dinner, we drove around to check out all of the Christmas lights and came back to play more.  Christmas is just so magical with these little guys!  I'm already looking forward to the next one :)

florida 2016

Florida is my happy place.  We weren't able to go last December b/c Emmett was too young, so I was itching to go this year.  After a hell of a time trying to get down there (flights cancelled, Emmett getting sick, lots of ice & snow etc.) we FINALLY made it.  It was bathing suits on (beers in hand) and pool time as soon as we stepped into our house.

We spent most of our trip swimming, fishing off the dock, exploring, drinking and eating.  The boys had a blast playing in the pool and running around.  Henry did some serious fishing with his Uncle Aaron, we did some kayaking, and visited all of our favorite sites/restaurants.  Every year gets better as the boys grow older and start enjoying all of the fun things we do down there!

We can't wait to go back next year, hopefully with a less eventful traveling tale and more time in the sun :)
