the apple orchard.

It is so hard to believe a year has passed since we last visited the County Line Orchard (see post here: HERE, holy crap, he was so cute!)  Henry and I decided to bring Darin & Aunt Kari along for the trip this time.  Last time we went on a weekday and what a difference that makes versus a Sunday trip.  The parking lot was full so we had to park in a massive field across the street.  Of course it rained the day before and we had to drive Darin's car through mud & grass... one car even got stuck!  Thankfully it was a nice, crisp fall day so the extra walking didn't bother anyone.

Our first adventure was on the tractor ride to the apple orchard.  We didn't get to do this last time and Henry was pretty excited to ride behind the big red tractor.  Once we got to the orchard, it was so nice and not nearly as busy as the other areas.  I was excited to pick some apples (8 lbs total!) and even snagged a few Granny Smith this year.  Henry also picked an apple and refused to let it go :)

We visited the animals again and he loved looking at the goats and feeding the miniature horses.  The biggest hit on the farm were the plastic John Deere cars/tractors that he could climb in and out of 67 times.  Pure joy, let me tell you.

The most popular food at the Orchard are the pumpkin donuts and the line to get a dozen of those babies was about 45 people long... so we decided not to wait (it was almost time for the Colts kickoff!).  We did get some apple cider and apple cinnamon donuts and both were delicious.  Henry loved the "pum-pums" and I'm sure the staff appreciated him rearranging them all.  He showed us his muscles by carrying one, if not two, around :)  He was not happy when we had to go, but thankfully we kept his half-eaten apple to distract him.

It looks like this might be an annual fall trip and I am completely ok with it... Henry definitely is too, as you can see by the pics :)

^^the tractor was a little louder than he expected^^

^^his face on the left is PRICELESS^^

^^this one is kinda heavy^^

miller family vacay (finale).

This last post from vacation is a complete hodgepodge of pics and events.  We had such a great trip and I'm so happy I was able to take as many pics as I did!

The night of our beach trip (last post) we went to dinner downtown Holland on 8th street.  The entire street was blocked off for a bunch of street performers doing their thing.  After dinner, we let Henry walk around and see what everyone was up to.  He loved looking at the cars and telling us the colors. I got to do a little shopping and we finished the night with ice cream, of course :)

On the third day, the weather was pretty crappy, so we had to find indoor entertainment for Henry (and us).  I had done some research prior to our trip and found a Crazy Bounce House.  Sounds like fun, right?  No.  Henry hated it.  Darin took him down the first (and biggest) slide and he threw a fit.  These slides were tall and FAST.  I thought I would try it with him too and still no success (the pic of us going down basically sums up how we both felt about the slides).  I lost all the skin on one of my elbows too :(  Eventually he found these bounce balls that he played with for the rest of the hour.  He also liked to pull up the floor tiles (until we told him no and he pouted on the floor... see pics :)  We tried a few more attempts down the slides, but he was done.  Maybe we will try again when he is a bit older...

^^HELP ME MOM!!!^^

After a much needed nap for all three of us, we drove to a little farm called the "Critter Barn".  Henry loves farm animals, so we thought this would be a win.  We guessed right, he loved looking at all of the goats, pigs, donkeys, sheep & ducks.  We didn't get to stay long, but it was just enough to have him talking about it the rest of the night.  Goat.  Moo.  Goat.   :)

The last day was spent packing all our stuff and then watching Henry play in the walk-in shower for about 45 minutes.  We loaded up the car and then stopped for a quick brunch before heading to Lafayette.  I had to snap a few more pics, of course!

Time to head home!  We had SUCH a great trip and cannot wait for the next Miller adventure!
