About a month ago we took our first family vacation since Emmett was born. I planned a week trip up to St. Joseph, Michigan and we stayed in our first Airbnb (which was SO great, I highly recommend trying it out). Hotel rooms with two littles is not a great idea unless everyone wants to go to bed at 8 pm. The house that we rented was so nice and quaint, it was perfect for the week. I was slightly obsessed with the all white bathroom and claw foot tub, hence the photo shoot that occurred there.
Every day we packed up our double stroller and walked to the beach. Henry had such a great time playing in the sand and the water. It was a struggle to get him to leave. Emmett, on the other hand, really enjoyed crawling around in the sand... and eating it... and rubbing his eyes with it. Basically he was my sand nightmare and I chased him around trying to keep him clean. I look forward to the beach days when he can walk and understand "do NOT eat the sand". Two of the four days I actually got him to sleep in the stroller for quite a while and was finally able to relax :)
One HUGE achievement of the week was finally getting Henry to ride on the carousel sitting on an animal and not one of the chairs that are stationary. Needless to say, he now loves carousels and wanted to do it over and over and over again.
All of the good food, craft beers and TONS of ice cream made for a great trip and I'm looking forward to many more to come!
