trip to the river.

Henry and I took a little trip with my mom and family to the river.  We ate and chatted and swatted at gnats and ate some more.  Henry rocked his white tank and actually enjoyed being outdoors for once... Fun times!

4th of July!

We spent our first 4th of July as a family of three at the Highland carnival.  I was really in the mood for some good ol' fried food and thankfully, the fair didn't disappoint.  We loaded Henry up in his stroller and walked around showing him the rides and games.  He eventually fell asleep, so we decided to get some food.  Corn dogs, funnel cakes, oreo truffle and fried wisconsin cheese were on the menu...  Such healthy choices!!!  I don't know if they even have a healthy option at the fair, but hey, it's the fair and how often do you get a fresh, hot funnel cake?!  It was all pretty good and we ate until our tummy's hurt.  Henry just went along for the ride.

Later that night we decided to attempt to take Henry to the fireworks.  Little did we know, the park where they set them off was ridiculously packed.  We drove around for a bit and found a small parking area to stop and hopefully see some of the show.  Henry was sleeping (again) but we woke him up once the show started.  If it weren't for the bugs, we could have probably stayed for the entire thing.  The noise didn't bother him at all and he was very intrigued by the lights up in the sky!

Hope everyone else had a safe and fun 4th of July!

henry len- 4 months!

4 Months:

Oh my, how you have grown...  You just seem to be a little longer and a little heavier each day.  At your 4 month check up, you were a hair under 26 inches and 15 lbs 12 oz.  You seem to be trending right along the 50th percentile (except for height... you are in the 84th percentile).  The doctor felt your gums and said they were a little swollen and to be ready for the teething phase to begin!  We kind of had a feeling this was coming due to the excessive amounts of slobber and the need to stick everything in your mouth.  We finally got you in your bumbo seat, which you love.  You also enjoy standing with our support and looking around.  So far, no consistencies in rolling over, but we've been helping you practice.  You are getting so darn close to laughing, we can't wait for it to be a regular event.  It's hard to believe you are a third of the way through your first year!  We are looking forward to seeing how much you change and learn in the next month!
