happy easter!

Entertaining at our house is one of my favorite things to do.  I love the planning process, decorating and trying out new recipes.  Easter was no exception, so we had both families up for the day to cookout, hunt eggs and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather.  I have so many memories of Easter egg hunting in winter coats, so I was thrilled Henry could run around outside sans coat and hat.  We had a great lunch and I made a carrot cake from scratch... shredding 2 lbs of carrots is no joke, but it was worth it! 

It is always a good time when everyone is together, we love having these gatherings!  

We hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter with their loved ones too!

It is so hard to believe a whole year has gone by since we had Henry's first birthday party.  As usual, I went all out to celebrate the little guy's big day.  I've decided that February is a rough month for planning parties... Last year he was sick and we had to reschedule b/c of the weather... This year he was sick the whole week leading up to the party and then there was a winter storm warning the day before.  I am thinking a summer birthday celebration may be in order for the future!  

We had the party at my parent's house and my mom was a huge help with the decorations and cooking.  Most of our friends and family were able to come and celebrate with Henry.  He is a very lucky little boy!  A few of his buddies even came to play and help open gifts :)  It's so fun to celebrate with our friends, especially now that there are lots of little ones around!  We had a great day and still cannot believe we have a two year old in our house!
