presenting Emmett Lee Miller.

We have had the craziest past three months.  Each week was another hurdle to overcome and each week I just willed baby Emmett to hang on a little longer!  Thankfully our old house sold fast... In the midst of selling it, Henry fell off of our bed and broke his collarbone, which made for a very long ER trip and an incredibly overwhelmed and exhausted 37 week pregnant lady.   The next week we closed on our old place, moved the following day and started to unpack/organize/make the house livable for a newborn.  Baby E stayed comfy and cozy.  I really expected him to come the week after we moved, mostly because I didn't want to work the weekend :) But he had his own agenda and I worked through the weekend, right up to my 40 week appointment, which I never EVER expected to see.  I was induced with Henry on a Thursday on the last day of February instead of in March, which was his original due date... so I was convinced over the weekend this kid would also come by induction on a Thursday on the first day of October, when he was originally due in September.  Annnddd that is exactly what happened!

We arrived at the hospital at 6 am, I was hooked up to pitocin and things got started!  By 2:30, the nurse was prepping my room for a baby.  I couldn't believe how fast I progressed!  My doctor arrived, I pushed for about an hour and Emmett made his appearance at 3:26 pm!  He weighed 8 lbs 11 oz and was 21 inches long.  He totally resembles Henry except for the brown hair and what appears to be brown eyes like his daddy.

Other than his actual birth, the next best part of the day was when Henry met Emmett for the first time.  Henry came right in looking for his baby brother and my heart exploded all over the place in a matter of seconds.  After he found out Emmett was there and ok, he says to me, "that belly is ALL gone!"  If only that was 100% true buddy :)  We then celebrated Emmett's birthday with cupcakes on Thomas the train plates and party hats.

We are so thankful to now have two beautiful & healthy boys.  We are looking forward to our new adventures as the Millers, party of four :)
