miller family vacay (part 2).

We were lucky to have amazing weather for our second day in Holland.  It was in the mid-70's and sunny.  Perfect day for the beach!  We had a late breakfast and then packed up our gear and headed to Holland State Park.  Henry freaked out about walking in the sand again, so we carried him to find a nice spot near the water.  Before we knew it, he was planted in the sand, playing with his toys and dragging us back and forth to the water.  He sat in one spot, with his sand toys, for at least an hour (maybe longer!).  Darin and I were in absolute shock.  Going to the beach with a toddler is completely different than going by ourselves... There wasn't a ton of relaxing and mostly just "Henry, don't eat the sand", "Henry, wait for us before you go to the water", "Henry, please stop putting sand all over the towels"  :)

After a few hours in the sun, we took a walk down the pier to see the Big Red Lighthouse.  The sun/water/sand combo completely wore Henry out and he was asleep before we left the parking lot to head back to the hotel.  We will definitely be making more trips to the beach next summer with the little guy :)
