the dunn family (fall).

Every time we schedule a photo session, the weather looks so great for the entire week.  And then the actual day rolls around and it is either 15 degrees and 10 inches of snow (maternity pics), 85 and humid (5 month pics) or this time, rainy allllll day until literally minutes before we started taking pics!  Thankfully the rain cleared and we were able to get to work.  The trees were spectacular... I barely made any in black & white b/c the colors were just too gorgeous.

I seriously love these guys so much.  Barrett is such a good sport (Matt is too) while Jamie and I just put them through every single pose and every location we can find :)  Barrett is the happiest little guy and I am so glad I can make him smile.  I even threw leaves onto my head to get him to grin :)  Enjoy!

halloween/friends-giving!

This was probably the last year that I could pick out Henry's halloween costume without him having an opinion.  I wanted him to be one of his favorite things and since I couldn't find an M&M costume, a green crayon was the next best thing!  The weather looked so promising towards the beginning of the week... 78 and sorta sunny on Monday.  The extended forecast progressively got worse as the week went on.  Who would have thought we would have snow flurries and tornado-like winds the day of Halloween?!  Thankfully, Henry was able to dress up for his "mommy & me" class on Thursday, so we snapped some pictures then.  He wore his costume on Friday too & we went to visit my friend Allison @ Walgreen's and then to see my coworkers @ CVS :)  We had 5 trick or treaters (all at once) and that was it.  I'm so glad he doesn't really understand the concept of trick or treating yet, so he didn't realize he was missing out on anything!

^^kids in costumes are just the cutest!^^

^^he wouldn't touch the cupcake w/ his hands... he ate all the icing with his mouth only, haha^^

This weekend we decided to host our first annual Friends-Giving!  There is nothing I love more than decorating and planning a party.  Everything about the entire process is so fun for me... making the table decor, finding recipes, rearranging my house :)  We opted for a pot luck and it turned out fantastic!  So much good food with so many great friends!  Henry was all over the place, talking up a storm as usual.  He played with both Barrett & Eli and did his best to share his toys.  Barrett was loving every minute of being in a new house with new toys!  I really regret not getting more pics of the entire event but we will always remember having a good time!

carving some pum-pum's.

Henry is loving this fall season & all of the activities.  His favorite book since last year around this time is "Five little Pumpkins", so now he totally knows what they are and says "pum-pums!" whenever he sees one.  We took advantage of the nice weekend weather and decided to carve some for him.  I have been waiting on the guys that are repainting the house for weeks to put out my fall decor and finally decided to go for it.  If they didn't go out then, it would have been wintertime.  Henry wasn't entirely interested in what was inside the pumpkins.  He said "ew", and then ran off to play.  He did enjoy coloring on the pumpkins with a sharpie, which he got all over his hands and then ran down the sidewalk ending with him tripping and cutting his lip open with his front tooth.  So, all in all, we had a great experience :)

the apple orchard.

It is so hard to believe a year has passed since we last visited the County Line Orchard (see post here: HERE, holy crap, he was so cute!)  Henry and I decided to bring Darin & Aunt Kari along for the trip this time.  Last time we went on a weekday and what a difference that makes versus a Sunday trip.  The parking lot was full so we had to park in a massive field across the street.  Of course it rained the day before and we had to drive Darin's car through mud & grass... one car even got stuck!  Thankfully it was a nice, crisp fall day so the extra walking didn't bother anyone.

Our first adventure was on the tractor ride to the apple orchard.  We didn't get to do this last time and Henry was pretty excited to ride behind the big red tractor.  Once we got to the orchard, it was so nice and not nearly as busy as the other areas.  I was excited to pick some apples (8 lbs total!) and even snagged a few Granny Smith this year.  Henry also picked an apple and refused to let it go :)

We visited the animals again and he loved looking at the goats and feeding the miniature horses.  The biggest hit on the farm were the plastic John Deere cars/tractors that he could climb in and out of 67 times.  Pure joy, let me tell you.

The most popular food at the Orchard are the pumpkin donuts and the line to get a dozen of those babies was about 45 people long... so we decided not to wait (it was almost time for the Colts kickoff!).  We did get some apple cider and apple cinnamon donuts and both were delicious.  Henry loved the "pum-pums" and I'm sure the staff appreciated him rearranging them all.  He showed us his muscles by carrying one, if not two, around :)  He was not happy when we had to go, but thankfully we kept his half-eaten apple to distract him.

It looks like this might be an annual fall trip and I am completely ok with it... Henry definitely is too, as you can see by the pics :)

^^the tractor was a little louder than he expected^^

^^his face on the left is PRICELESS^^

^^this one is kinda heavy^^

^^can't get enough of these two^^
